Stephen Fredrick has been flying airplanes for nearly forty-seven years and has flown everything from light piston singles to heavy turboprops to jets. He has been employed in Part 91 corporate aviation and Part 121 and 135 scheduled airline operations. Currently, he serves is a senior Line Captain, Training Captain, Domicile Assistant Chief Pilot, and Director of Safety for Mokulele Airlines based in Kahului, Maui. Stephen is a three-time book author, his first work being published in 1996 by McGraw-Hill. Unheeded Warning is the non-fiction examination of American Eagle flight 4184, or as many in aviation know it, the ATR72 icing crash in Roselawn, Indiana. Unheeded Warning was required reading by the NTSB prior to their issuing their final report on the crash in what became the longest open and most highly contentious airline accident investigation in US history until TWA 800. His two novels, Cassandra’s Crossing and Fortunate Son have achieved wide acclaim. Stephen and his wife, Shelly, are living the dream on Maui. He has three adult daughters, Rebecca, Rachel, and Stephanie, and four grandchildren.
